The Grey Ant SS 2011 fashion show was amazing and here’s a video short capturing the action. I can’t wait until next season’s show as I have a feeling they will outdo themselves!

IN LIVING COLOR was not only brilliant and progressive in it’s day but revolutionary in my opinion. The writers and actors were masters of their art and I had the pleasure of watching a full marathon over the weekend which brought me back to those times when I couldn’t wait to tune in each week. What ever happened to the HILARIOUS Kim Wayans? She was genius in her sketches and was one of the funniest people I ever watched in the 90′s. Ms. Benita being one of my favorite sketches ever. Here’s to that exceptional group of people who made us laugh.
Props to BERKELEY, CA (one of the cities I grew up in) for establishing Indigenous People’s Day.
Indigenous People’s Day (also known as Native American Day) is a secular holiday celebrated in various localities in the United States, begun as a counter-celebration to Columbus Day. The purpose of the day is to promote Native American culture and commemorate the history of Native American peoples. The celebration began in Berkeley, California as an alternative to Columbus Day, which is listed as a federal holiday in the United States but is not observed as a state holiday in every state. Indigenous People’s Day is usually held on the second Monday of October, coinciding with federal observance of Columbus Day.
On account of the rain we’ve seen this week in New York I found these rain boots while combing the market for a client. They’re so good I had to share. These women’s LOEFFLER RANDALL boots aren’t high like the traditional style of rain boot and come in army green or black . I like the subtle and nondescript laced style and they are made of rubber so your feet will stay dry. I wish they made a pair for men.
I checked in with fam and friends in LA last week and while it’s not exactly food my first stop in LA: COFFEE BEAN. I act brand new like I never met Starbucks when I’m in LA.
I’ve just returned from a visit home for a week where I ate my through California spending time in SF, Berkeley & Mendocino, ending my visit in LA.
Starting in SF:

Wouldn't be a trip back home without a shameful visit to Jack in the Box. I'm such a nerd for caring about the evolution of their logo

BI RITE ice cream in the Mission is like a gourmet Mitchell's. When in SF ice cream lovers MUST hit BI RITE & MITCHELL'S

When in Cali I have to get my MEXICAN on and in SF it's straight to the MISSION (in the Mission it's all about Mexican, pupusa's or Nicaraguan queso frito)

My two spots for Mexican food in the Mission are EL FAROLITO (on 24th) and GUADALAJARA TAQUERIA which is deeper in the Mission. I chose Guadalajara this time because I LOVE their shrimp burrito, complete with slight burn marks on the tortilla so you know it's good

Everyone has heard about this collaboration by now and I admit it’s a GOOD one but I’ve always been a little dubious about these collaborations since the Luxury house materials and fabrics are almost never used in the collections. However, I am excited about this collab because I LOVE LANVIN and ALBER ELBAZ is a major talent. I hope that the LANVIN quality will be visible in the pieces.
