New York Based Artist and “It Girl”, Vashtie Kola, is a jack of all trades. She has achieved much success as a Music Video Director directing videos for notable artists like Justin Bieber, Creative Directing for Brands like Island Def Jam and Roc Nation, Designing her own brand Violette and collaborating with Brand Jordan on her very own Jordan sneaker and throwing popular parties like “1992” with Oscar Sanchez and “OPEN” with Q-TIP.
This power house has been featured for her work in prestigious publications such as; The New York Times, Trace, i-D, Paper, and The Daily News.
Vashtie never found one brand that consistently represented her tomboy flair and high fashion sensibility.
With this in mind, VIOLETTE was established in a lane of its own. It began to manifest in 1999, but wouldn’t be fully realized until years later. Inspired by uptown and downtown, hip hop and rock, feminine and masculine, casual and couture – VIOLETTE is a mix of opposite worlds that meshes fashion forward with casual style.
The VIOLETTE girl is impossible to categorize. Her wardrobe consists of rare designer items and delicate vintage pieces. She contains a style that is both effortless and uncontrived, she starts trends without thinking. The harmony of contrasts is a distinction of her true sense of fashion.
VAlthough, the line will primarily be for the Ladies, there is also a VIOLETTE HOMME line dedicated to the Gentlemen.
